Kansas Teachers of Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists Preparation and Mentorship

Process for Applying for Funding through the Project:

1. Choose the certification you are seeking (TSVI and/or COMS).
2. Confirm a special education director is currently seeking a TSVI and/or COMS.
   • Reach out to program staff to ask any additional questions you may have about the program and set up a time to interview for funding approval.

3. Once the interview and acceptance for funding are complete, apply to one of these two approved universities. Please note: There are deadlines, so please reach out to the university to find out. Remember to ask questions if you are having issues with the application process.
   1. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Contact program director: Mackenzie Savaino
   2. Stephen F. Austin  Contact program director: Beverly Jackson
4. Once you have been accepted into a university TSVI or COMS program, send your letter of acceptance to Menely Hogan.
5. Complete the TASN Reimbursement Agreement (which will be provided by Menely Hogan), including signatures from director and program staff.
